Studio Profile

"絲畫"(Silk painting)起源於中國，近年來，卻流行於歐美。此類工藝是運用水彩、水墨或蠟染的技法，以繪、染的顏料直接繪於布料;屬於手繪(Hand-painted design)設計或彩繪的一種， 再製作成絲畫或絲巾、衣服、傢飾等產品。

“Studio 55”，早期純粹以藝術家個人作品為主，屬於客製化及純手繪的精品，這樣的商品經過複製、量產，應用於室內傢飾織品的設計，並發展成多樣商品，包括 : 裝飾圖畫、織品、燈飾、服飾 & 配件、絲巾、布包等。

Studio Profile


“Studio 55” was founded in August 2007, mainly engaged in the design and development of woven products for interior decoration. The weaving patterns are mostly from flowers or abstract drawings. Products developed so far include silk scarves, lighting decorations, name card cases and tapestries, etc. Tapestry is a newly developed business and represents the integration of art and technology, having incorporated the know-how of digital weaving. Tapestry products are normally used as the derivative products of art creations, or souvenirs of fine art museums.
Sue Huang, art director of the Studio, used to study in New York and have worked for reputed companies including Stark Carpet and Suzie Frankfurt Interiors, etc.

In 2006, Ms. Huang was also one of the winners of the“2006 Taiwan Crafts Competition ” for her“hand-painted silk scarves”.
Tapestry works are produced by computer software and the advanced jacquard weaving machines, enlivened by the creativity of the artists. The development of the digital technologies leads to the introduction of the digital weaving techniques to the traditional European tapestry and enables a more precise and faithful interpretation of the creativity of the artists.

Apart from meeting the exquisite quality standards, the products can also accommodate to the demand of the high-end design market with its diversity and limited quantity. The work being displayed is one of the “Flower Series” recently designed.
